How to activate a Steam key
Redeeming a key on Steam takes under a minute. A code can only be used once and the game stays tied to the account that redeemed it, so check the region before you redeem.
- 1Open the Steam app on your computer and sign in.
- 2In the top menu click Games, then "Activate a Product on Steam".
- 3Accept the terms, paste the code exactly as you received it, hyphens included, and click Next.
- 4The game appears in your library. Click Install.

If Steam says the code was already redeemed, open a ticket with your order number. An already-used key is grounds for a replacement or a refund.
I got a region error. What should I do?
It means the key belongs to a region that does not include your country. It cannot be swapped after redeeming, so ask for the exchange before trying again.
Can I redeem in a browser?
Yes, at store.steampowered.com/account/registerkey, but the desktop app is faster.
